* and an update on the rusty bit of grunge posted a couple of days ago. Tracy (lurch) has informed me and I quote '' Now then Richard I can tell you what this is!!!! it is a cattle water feeder. When set up right the cow pushes the tab at the back and water flows into the bowl. Us country girls are a mine of information.''
Thanks Tracy ... We all now feel fully rounded people for that essential piece of farming lore. :-)

I wonder what got caught on the wire.the back ground make the wire stand out very well.
Richard Trim: Looks as if it could have been sheeps wool. cheers richard

Richard Trim: Good ... and have a great break Aksel. richard
It does have its own intrinsic beauty, Richard, in spite of what we've been led to believe!
And we all know we can trust Tracy!
Richard Trim: Only in the right context though ...and that's in 2 dimensional images. Thanks Ginnie. richard
and some people may not. The buttercups are nice though
Richard Trim: Oh Bill it looks so attractive ... oh oh ... ;-) richard
Far away from cats eyes, eh, Richard.

There is a sort of artistry in this barbed wire Richard. Nice shot. Richard
Richard Trim: In this bit yes ... but it isn't usually so compliant. richard
I think this is perfect, and I agree with Mry, the background is great and enhances the image.
Richard Trim: I think you're right Brian. cheers richard
Splendid detail, and wonderful colours. I love barbed wire close up, it photographs so well.
A terrific capture, Richard. Hope you have a super weekend
Richard Trim: I guess it has its moments Paul. cheers richard
Ouch! You could have warned us - I wasn't wearing my sunglasses when I opened this! As fair a piece of grungy old barbed wire as I have ever seen.
Ingrid
Richard Trim: Oh yes they must still be a permanent fixture after sunning it in the Med'. I thought it was a lovely shiny clean piece Ingrid.
richard
With the harshness and sharp focus of the barbed wire against the softness and brightness of the yellow flowers you have created the perfect constrast. I love it, well done.
Richard Trim: I think the slight blue hue in the wire helps a lot. Thanks Sheila. richard
Nice serie on the country, Richard.
A preference for the last two. Maybe they remind MY country ...
Richard Trim: I can just imagine the green fields in Normandy and Brittany. Thanks Fabrice ... richard
Richard I can not tell you how many times I have seen this scene over the past few months, out and about on my walks. You have captured the atmosphere of the countryside wonderfully.
I have so enjoyed your series what a pity it's ended. Thanks for the recognition too
Richard Trim: Well it's possibly not the image Of Staffs that the tourist board would project but I think its an aspect of the real Staffs. Glad you liked it Tracy... Yes we'll have to sort out a meet before the years out ... cheers richard
Excellent shot Richard, I see there's a bit of thread from your trouser leg haning on a barb. Step higher next time you cross one of these!
Richard Trim: lol Brian ... cheers richard
This is excellent in my book...so sharp and clear..I just see the wire and nothing else..
Richard Trim: I think you made your point very well Ada.
