You'd have thought they'd at least have made the bench level! Or maybe it's hoping people will slide off the end to make more space. ...
Richard Trim: Coo Ellie you are so clever ..and show so much fore-sight. ;-) richard

Richard Trim: benches are seriously important for people ... Cheers Ray.

Loved your image of this station from the 23rd June. and this is cool too. I like how the young-uns are documenting the snooze patterns of the gerry's(geriatrics) wink
Richard Trim: Yeh Savo ... Little do they realise that they will be in a similar position themselves in a few years time. Ha!

There are stories to be told here, great shot!
Richard Trim: I sat on a seat for twenty minutes waiting for my train ... It was fascinating watching people. But then I'm a sad ol' git ...or something .

Yes, a nice snapshot and Bill is right! Do the persons wait for the 'Eurostar' to "Europe"? Red (red shoes, but it is not anniedog!), black, and a kind of greenish dominate the pic! I like the different behaviours- the older ladies seem to have all the time in the world whereas the young ladies look a bit busy with.. whatever! Some weeks later I'll see me in that position sitting on a bench, some luggage in front of myself..., but I might look a bit more excited!
Richard Trim: No this part of the station os for the riff raff Philine. I believe the carriage in the background is a Eurostar carriage but its on a different level.

So you will be in England soon ...that's good . richard
I'll be back in London on August 12th.

"gerry's"- na, is that a friendly word- or does it mean "grufties"?
Richard Trim: geriatrics are a dismissive term used by the younger generations about mature people with a touch of grey hair a few wrinkles and who enjoy a slower pace of life.

So I suppose that includes me .... I'm going to kick Savo ha!

lol, l keep waiting for them to slide off the bench, great shot Richard
Richard Trim: We Brits can cope with adventures like that zed. richard
This is ace - I love the bright colours and the crispness - and the wonkiness of the landscape smile
Richard Trim: What's the world coming to ... wonky platforms!!! cheers Harry.

Well now..the train is it has to be the bench. If the lady on the end nods off..she will slip off. Nicely captured Richard.
Richard Trim: I see you have decoded all the levels , slopes and Horizontals most efficiently Ron. Congratulations.

Great candid shot.
Richard Trim: Thanks Michael.

That's really interesting Richard: all those horizontal layers - and the people of course
Richard Trim: Not all horizontal Chris ... But I know you know that. ;-0 cheers richard
Nicely seen moment Richard, the background train works well. I can't decide what the lady is leaning back for though.
Richard Trim: She's knackered Brian .... ;-) richard

Must be great to sleep in a station while others are busying around
Richard Trim: Yes but then it's easy to miss your train ... I fell asleep once on the last train of the day eventually waking up at the terminus 50 miles beyond my staion and had to wait for the first train of the next day to take me back to my proper station.

Excellent !! A likey !
Richard Trim: Wow Zeb ... thanks. richard

Oh my, "riff-raff"- what a funny, but a little arrogant sounding word! I know fearful people who never would go by Eurostar to England, only by ferries (I'll go on 16th August by BA to Heathrow and then further via Bristol to Torquay and Bodmin)! I'm full of expectations!
Richard Trim: I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time Philine ....
superb shot Richardsmile
Richard Trim: ha ! just ordinary everyday living aint it tim ... ha! cheers richard
Even more fantastic than #3.

I also like the sequence: young - old - young - old lady.
This is my favourite of the 3 bench shots - has the most interesting characters. Great how it repeats itself with paperwork / sleeper / paperwork / sleeper.

I like the low, jaunty angle too; gives it a journalistic/reportage slant.
