Quality portrait, maybe the painter and the lightouse in the same place leaves the pic a bit unbalanced?
Richard Trim: Thanks Nig... yes i realised that when i reviewed the shot later. Maybe the figure leads the eye to the lighthouse ... just a thought. cheers richard

Oh WOW, Richard! This is a Likey for me as well. The DOF and color tones are exquisite!
Richard Trim: Thanks Ginnie. It looked good in colour and also in B&W, but I think this works better still. richard

Richard Trim: Thanks Ann. have a magic button that enhances the surround with a soft blur. richard

the depth of field is perfect (and I think it works well with the white of the lighthouse echoing the womans clothes)
Richard Trim: Thanks Paul and I like your take on the lighting aspects. richard
Mixed media - what a great title. Lovely light in this, great composition, too. Sepia - a perfect choice. (:o)

a thoroughly gorgeous shot. A lovely vintage feel. mal
Richard Trim: Sepia/vintage permeated my psyche in my formative years from all the sepia prints in my granny's home. Really appreciate your words. richard

Lovely Richard. Lose the top third because it is a distraction. Then it becomes stunning. Well that's my humble opinionsmile
Richard Trim: I like the fact that you're helping me out Billsmile. My thinking was that actually the blurred townscape helps put the the protagonist into a context. Many thanks though Bill ... food for thought.richard

I really like this picture, it looks sort of comfy.

I hid the top part, with the buildings, it makes for interesting looking - have you tried it?

On a really light note - has to be in UK, where else would somebody wear a cardigan and a sun hat? (I've got one of those, it's a Tilley)
Richard Trim: After another look at this Ellie I think both Bill and yourself are right about the additional crop... Wise words. cheers richard
Another quality shot Richard, i have trawled through your archive and it has been a pleasure !
