The Grand Union canal wanders up through the home counties and eventually reaches the outskirts of Leicester. It randomly combines and then seperates with the River Soar ... the so so famous river in Leicester where legend has it that the dead body of Richard 3rd was carried carelessly over the main river bridge. This spot is not far from that bridge. There are no tow-paths or river side paths at this point thus views can only be obtained from river crossings.
